Hello,

We recently purchased this used motor, believing it to be a 2005...Based on the model number, it appears to be older than that, discovered when we purchased a new digital multi-function tach and the wiring harness (single 4-pin on tach) did not mate to the engine (dual 4-pin)...Can this tach work with the older engine with an adapter or wiring modification, or do we need to get a used tach?

That motor is a 2002 model, should have used a 6YR-W0035-E1-00 Tach Kit.
To use tach you have would need 6Y5-85335-10-00 adapter harness mounted at engine.
