2005 (?) Yamaha outboard engine Type 5CMH

I bought this engine new around 2005/2006 in Venezuela. I don't get full power to the engine. I have changed the fuel and I think the problem is carburettor related. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?:

Remove the upper cowl and check spark plugs, carb linkages, loose wires, any obvious and simple problems, then find someone who can remove and clean your carb...the old gas was probably laying in the fuel system, lines and carb and has formed a gum or varnish, plugging the jets. After you get it running right, use some fuel stabilizer like Stabil, Seafoam or others, to help keep your gas fresh...Good Luck!
