  • 2000 yamaha 70 is kicking my butt once again

Your guy's help last time steered me to a bad fuel pump and ran strong all of duck season until today when running wide open around 5000 rpm and going approx 29mph. Then out of no where it drops to 3600 rpm and 12mph and sounded like maybe I was only running on two cylinders, changed plugs on the water with no change. Any thoughts?

Follow the advice just like last time and test things

    Compression, spark, and timing
Then you are left with fuel problems if all of that is good

          blowed up.
I actually have a buildable block assy and have one I just built.
but now its crack open time to inspect for damage.
          nint.
CAREFULLY inspect the oil line into the oil pump.
past year I have had 3 blown 60's,two seventies and 3 50's due to water contamination of the oil tank.
its caused by a defective seal on the engine hood oil fill port.
water leaks past it and catches in the rubber funnel part at the tank fill and seeps past the tank fill plug.
as water settles to the bottom of the tank, eventually all the oil pump picks up is water.
          then.
          poof.
