1997 3 cylinder 50hp accelerates uncon*****ably

i have a 50hp yamaha outboard it is 3 cylinders i believe it is from 1997. my problem is that when i start the engine on choke it turns on and idles fine when i push the choke in to disengage the choke the motor accelerates uncontrolably. im not sure what this could be i already cleaned all three carburetors and changed fuel filter. i would appreciate any help thank you

Check linkage at carbs to see if the throttle plates are open to far.
Did you do the link and sync like manual calls for after reinstalling carbs?
needs to be done each time.
If everything is good then check timing to see if it is advancing to much at idle

A US market 50 in 1997 did not have a choke.
still doesnt.
the keyswitch may have the function but the engine has no choke.
its a prime start model.
