  • Low battery alarm

Goes off on a regular basis when engines are trimmed while boat is in gear. Volts drop from 14.2 to 13.2-13.8 when trimmed. Low voltage alarm goes off. Bring engines back to neutral alarm goes away and no problems unless I use trim. Boat is a kencraft 23 with twin F200s. Alarm goes off when I trim individually as well. Any ideas appreciated I think it may be a short under the deck.

    Thanks

At what RPM does this happen?

check all connections, even fuse holders for corrosion

Any where from 700-5200. Had all corrosion and wiring checked. Initial owner had gauges replaced under warranty that didn fix the problem. During this process the tech found where the main wiring harness was two male ends jammed together. Got all of that cleaned up and still goes off. The information from the fuel sender isn't getting to the smart gauge either. Only the voltmeter works.

low voltage alarm should not trigger until volts go below 11v or so.
and when it does RPM will be reduced to 2500 max.
        just like the other alarms.
13.2V is an acceptable running voltage.
        the ECU will remain happy.
