Yamaha 250hp HPDI

Hi everybody. I am a new member and i enjoy your forum even though i just read others questions, is very informative. I have a question any help is greatelly appriciated. whats is the real problem with the Yamahas HPDI engines that every time i ask someone about a boat i looking at with 250hp hpdi they all tell me that those engine have a bad reputation but no one can tell me what is all about. thanks

they liked to detonate pistons.
the Z250 was the worst followed by the Z300 and the Z 200;
most times at the end of the day it was fuel related.
