I have a 2002, 40 HP, 4 stroke manual outboard motor. Would like to convert to electric start and need the part number and perhaps who might have the kit for sale. Motor model number is TRBL3784E202, sn 67LL301652, manufactured on 3/02. Thanks

Thanks. Are there additional links to detailed diagrams/manual or repair manuals that you can give me so that I can give them to the marine mechanic? Ideally they would also like name and phone number of someone to call in case they get in trouble while installing the parts. Is this possible?

The service manual would be only information on as Yamaha doesn't offer a kit then they don't offer detailed instructions to convert. We can be reached at the boats.net phone number on this forum.

OK, thanks. Checked the model number and it is as you identified F40MLHA. With the configuration you have suggested does the motor charge the battery? If not, can I add that and what would the required parts be?
Thanks.
