2004 175 HPDI Hours

I am looking at buying a used boat with a 2004 175 HPDI. The seller says the motor has 316 hours on it. Is that too many hours to consider or is there still a lot of life left in the motor? I have not tested the compression on the motor as of yet, just wondering what some of you all think.

I have 2X200 HPDI yamaha outboards with 315hrs each and they are starting to give me endless problems relating to fuel , I have had many Yamaha motors in my boating career an these motors are defenately the worst

i have a 2003 200 hpdi 1000 hours runs great ,keep your filters clean and run it.any motor will get you there,yamaha will get you home

only problem with old low hour engines is fuel system issues.
the leaner the system the worse the issues.
the HPDI has about 12 filters in the system.
