What can happen if the oil feed to the vapor/high pressure pump cannister is disconnected and the engine is operated?

I don't know what motor you're referring to, but when you "stop the oil flow" usually the motor will quickly overheat and seize, causing serious damage to the pistons, rings, cylinder walls, etc....the lubricating oil is really the "life blood" of the motor...

HPDI? not much, a small mess under the hood.
          OX66?
you can totaly destroy the engine due to lack of lubrication.
