86/87 90HP 2 stroke oil light not on
I have read several threads about the oil sensor on the 90 Yamaha 2 stroke but they all seem to have the red light come on when the oil tank is full. My problem is that the green light went out and the motor reduced to 1/2 rpms. The oil tank on the motor is full. Limped to our landing to let off some weekend visitors. When I started the motor and started going back to the cottage, the green light came on and the rpms back to normal for about a minute when the light went out and rpms lowered again. Any thoughts?

if the tank is full then either the tank switch is failing or the pink wire is shorted to ground, -
The sensor on the oil tank has 3 wires (black, green & green/red). I checked all three wires from the tank to the ground and to the rpm gauge on the dash - they all appear to be good with no visible wear spots.Comment

black-grn/red red lamp on.
