• 70 yamaha for parts

I have a 1990 70hp yamaha that I believe has a crack in one of the cylinder walls. It also needs a new head. Due to saltwater corrosion, where the head meets the water cover there is no seal and water comes out where the spark plugs are. Im going to try and get rid of it since it can be used for parts(starter, stainless prop, flywheel, great carbs., etc.etc.) and even be fixed with a new head and some machine work. What should I start asking or even expect for the motor like it is. It will start up, but only run on two cylinders primarily and Im guessing it runs hotter than it should since a lot of water comes out of the water cover.

frogg,
Try checking the Yamaha outboards on ebay - I see quite a few there up for auction. Some complete motors and others that have been torn down. Might give you some idea of what to ask.
Good luck ,
