  • HPDI bogg (at a loss on this one)

Like to say hi and thanks in advance. I'm working on an 03 150 HPDI that just runs like crap on low in (boggs and lean pops) then will clear up and go on top end....What I've done so far

    Compression test
    replace spark plugs
    cleaned O2 sensor and port
    checked lift pumps for leaks
    replaced sep filters
    replaced VST filter
    replaced Mid filter
    replace HP pump filter
    replace all inj filters
    checked VST pressure
Used YDS checked, TPS,O2,HP pressure, shift, static inj and spark test

All things checked were in spec, old filters were darn near completly clogged tho

It showed a fault for Inj in the last hour of use.

My question is would a Inj driver or ECU cause a low/mid range issue like this? And if the inj click when doing the static test does that also mean the driver is working? Or should I do a peak reading at the inj?

If I get it to go it seems to run fine on top. Any Ideas? Thanks

edit: the condition was sudden, ran fine then this

injector test circuits are not the same as the running circuits.
my stevens/ferret timing light will trigger of the driver circuit.
monitor medium and HP fuel pressure at the failure RPM and load.
the laptop will record the last 13 min of run data when you hit save.

Fuel pressures are good, I narrowed it down to one cylinder by misting fuel in the intake while at part throttle.

I did a DVA test at the inj and they all had 80. I will try the timing light before I pull the injectors for service. I just wanted to make sure I don't wait a week (getting inj cleaned) to find out the driver is bad.
