Yamaha 703 7-10 pin

I have a 703 control that does not have power trim but has a 10 pin cable rather than the 7 pin that is used when no trim. It should still work, right? The extra pins just won't do anything?

Is your motor 10 pin or 7 pin, does your motor have trim?

Motor has no trim and neither does the control but cable is 10 pin.

If the connector on engine is 10 pin as well then it will work, if motor has 7 pin harness then would 703-8258A-00-00 7 to 10 pin adapter harness

Wouldn't the 10 pin cable plug into the 7 pin motor harness?

probably not to the same wires, so pick up the adapter if needed
