I am having trouble getting my Garmin 541S to display the engine date on screen. The rest of the fuctions work fine. The screens are there but the unit is not seeing the engine. I bought a mare-003 to make the link. I did not have a existing back bone installed in my boat. I cut the mare-003 and spliced in 20 feet of wire. I connected on end directly to the plug on the motor and ran the wire thru my boat and to the garmin.
The garmin does not pick up there is a motor on the network. any ideas?
