70 ETLH lower unit gear questions...

Hello,

I have an 87 70hp ETLH. I recently bought a lower unit from a 93 40 hp. Will this have the same gear ratio? Will it be a bolt on solution for a lower unit with a cracked case?

The 40hp gear case is a smaller gear case it will not work on a 70hp

Is there a place I can find a listing of the lower units that would fit and what years?

Also, is there a specific gear ratio for this?
