  • Converting 20 inch shaft to 25 inch shaft

Hello. I have a F-150 outboard with a 20 inch shaft. Is it possible to swap out the lower unit to make this a 25 inch shaft? Roughly how much do you think this would cost to have done? My motor is brand new, so maybe they would swap lower units with me??

besides the lower unit, it is the midsection that you would be looking for as the shaft length goes thru it.

It's almost cheaper to go out and buy a complete new 25" motor, or trade yours in on one. There's so much stuff to change that's not apparent when you just look at the motors. Everything from the chin cowling down is different. The water pipe inside the midcase, the tuner, the driveshaft, everything.
