Do I need to Remove?

Hi -

New to this forum. I've dropped the small chain that holds the oil tank cap into the oil tank. (1994 40 hp 2 cycle) DO I need to remove it? I'm afraid that it could clog the tube and result in insufficient oil mixing with the gasoline.

No sense taking a chance, straighten a piece of wire, put a small hook at the end and go fishing.
