choke in stall

[87 yamaha]

Hello, all
Got a 87 Yamaha 30 elh. Motor been sitting for 3 years. Just replace water pump. Runs OK. When let the motor warm up. And push the choke in. And give it gas , motor runs rough and want to stall. Going to place replace the spark plugs next.. Any advice. On .the rough engine, Thanks.

Check compression, sitting for 3 years may have hurt cylinders, rings, and bearings if it was not put away properly
