A jet looses a lot of HP compared to prop motor. The 40 ends up about 28hp I think. Make sure that is enough before going through the trouble of getting one
Yeah I have looked into that, it is a disadvantage but i'm running a 15 now and it pushes it right along. I'm interested in a jet prop because I live on a tidal creek and the draft is a lot less.
For a shallow tidal creek, sand bars, oyster beds, etc., must be the best thing sinced sliced bread. We see lots of them over on the gulf coast, and you can always tell when one's coming because they sound a bit different from a regular prop motor. I've read that fishing line, ropes, weeds, etc. can get sucked up in the pump and be challenging to remove. Look around and you'll find a good one! Good Luck!
