F40BET tachometer

I have a 4 stroke 40 hp engine with a 703 control box. I have just mounted it on my boat and tested it. :-) But my tachometer is completly dead .
It has 2 x 4 pin/box connectors which are connected behind the tachometer...which should be impossible to connect wrong. How can I check if its getting power. Which cables can I measure...

Do you have a wiring diagram for the 703 unit incl tachometer (oil/temp) digital?

Check that tach dip switch settings on back if tach is set for 12 pole alternator, check that power between yellow and black wires at tach with key on.
