cylinder head bolt torque settings

hi all

i have a 40hp 2 stroke twin 1978 and need to bolt down the cylinder head to finish rebuild. does anyone know the right torque settings for this? or does anyone have some advice?

Head bolt torque on a US model 1990 C40Hp is 11 FT LBS on first toirque and 22 FT lbs on second torque but don't have any information on models older than that.

I have the same engine (a 40BE). my service manual gives cyl head torque figures as 1st 14.7nm (1.5m-kg) 2nd 27.4nm (2.8m-kg). I am looking for further in or an overhaul manual for this beast. Have you found anything as the commercial manuals only seem to go back to 1984? Regards TimG
