OX66 250hp Over heat at low RPM

2000 ox66 250s

Only seems to over heat at low rpm, have good water coming out. Water pumps, Thermostats are new.

Is this a Poppet valve issue?

where do I find a diagram of the poppet valve?

thats what it sounds like,check the parts for that motor and it will show you where it is

Do you know what listing its under? started looking and didnt see it in the explosion charts

Yea, it's there. Probably around the power head section. Suggest getting the new style valve, gasket, and grommet. Be real carefull replacing the grommet. Sometimes tends to pop inside water jacket (been there). It's retrievable but a bitch to do. Need to remove the cable connectors from the bottom of the ECU to get to the job.
