Had power head rebuilt, replaced carbs, pistons, rings, crank etc.
Mechanic now says motor has no spark and his fault code said pulse coil,he got same code 4 x. Would this cause motor to not start? Is there a way to ohm out pulse coil?
His price currently is 5,000.00 and climbing for this job. Can someone help I am approaching the price of a new motor.
How do I go about trouble shooting to get this money pit running?

exactly what motor are you speaking about? Model # would help.

A service manual should give all the info needed to troubleshoot motor and specs including ohms and peak voltages of pulse coils

Yes pulsor coil will prevent it from running, best test is output voltage test with a peaking reading voltmeter, you can check the resistance of each one.
