  • '85 yamaha 150 electric choke problem

Recently bought a boat with a 1985 150hp outboard. (My first Yamaha outboard). Have to manually choke it to start it. Control does not have a "push key" function to choke it. Any suggestions?

Well as long as the choke wire is part of the harness, which it should be, you can just wire a push button switch for you choke solenoid. You can also change over you switch to one with a push button choke.

the 703 throttles had the lift button toggle also but not sure if it would work with your motor

that is the choke button, i think the blue wire should run to the solenoid
try not to choke while up any rpms, i learned that lesson with a PRO-v

Thanks to all. I fixed this problem with some WD-40 on the choke solenoid ( after your help and me finding the choke solenoid)
