Just purchased a 70hp Yamaha and had it installed from a Yamaha dealer. The dealer told me it was a left over 2004. After a couple of weeks fishing, I notice a manufactured date on the side of the motor was 09/00. Do I have a left over 2004 or 2000?

My 2000 C115 has a mfg. date of 1999 on it - I can understand that - you buy next years model in the current year - kinda like a car or truck. But I think your dealer is pushing it a little - a 2004 model manufactured in 2000? - I think you may have an issue with the dealer - depends on what you had to pay, and how well you like the outboard.
