I own a 2003 F60 TLR Tiller outboard. The motor runs great but I have always struggled with the steering tension control. I tighten the adjusting nut that controls the tension that the adjusting handle puts on the friction plate to where I want it and within minutes it becomes loose. I carry a wrench with me in the boat just for adjusting the tension nut. I have replaced most of the parts other than the friction plate to no avail. Any thoughts on a more permanent fix?
