  • oil ratio

Hello guys, I just bought a 1702 key west with an 1996 85hp yamaha 2 stroke . Of course i dont have a manuel yet.Can anyone give me the oil ratio for this motor .Ive been mixing 1 pint to six gal of gas, is this right

A pint of outboard oil to 6 gallons of gas is correct, 50:1. Good luck with your "new to you" boat and motor. Given regular preventive maintenance, these old Yamaha 2 strokes are very good, dependable motors. Mine's a 1999 90C, and never had a bit of trouble out of it. Clean, fresh, stabilized fuel is a key item to their performance and dependability. Get the owner's book and a repair manual to help you understand the different systems.
