Awhile ago I had oil leaking from the carbs of my 1989 Excel 225 V6. It has the old style VRO with built in check valves. I took it apart and cleaned it and it was ok for a couple seasons.
Now, after a season of no use, I'm getting it going again but oil is leaking again. I took the VRO out and took the top off to clean the check valves. Turns out the o-ring around the "drive shaft" may have shriveled. I replaced it and seemed to have cut down the leak quite a bit.
But now it looks like it is seeping out from where the top of the pump (with nipples) mates with the body of the pump. I don't remember there being a gasket there so I don't think I lost it. Am I wrong? Is there supposed to be one?
If I wanted to swap this whole thing out for the new style, can anyone point me at a good source?
Thanx!
Bill
