  • Pushed my luck to far

    2005 90 HP Yamaha 4 stroke
    Model # F90TLRD

Every year I would just put my boat along side the house and put a tarp over it for the winter. I knew better but didn't empty the fuel tank or run the gas out of the motor.

Just tried to get it started. Turns over just fine, but just won't start. Tonight I am going to drain the fuel, pull and clean the plugs and see if I can get it started. I have heard that on these one might have to rebuild the fuel pump and carb .... but I sure hope not.

Anything else I can do or consider? Is the dealer the only place I can get a service manual for it?

If it's a carbed motor, then drain each one, with drain plugs out squeeze primer bulb to flush float chambers with fresh fuel. When draining hold clean white rag under each one to see what's in each one(like water/debris). Good Luck!
