2005 F80 Slow to start

I have a 2005 F80 which is slow to start.
Turns over fine, but takes a lot of turning before it fires.
3 or 4 goes at 10-15 secs and then it will fire and run quite happily
warm starting seems ok.
I haven't had a chance to draw a plug, as it always seems to fire just as I get the plug spanner out, but they are newish plugs.
Any ideas what to look for?

for a carbed motor? thats about right.
EFI would be wrong but not so bad for carbed.

This is a fuel injection engine.

UK Model No F80BET, 2005 . I get the impression that its not a lot different from the model sold in the states. Shares a lot with the F100

if its fuel injected its TOTALY different than the US market F80.
the F80 and F100 were never offered as EFI engines for the US market.
both the F80 and the F100 were dropped from the US market in 2002.

my f80 2004 (carbed)starts on the button as a car does had it 4 years and always been a good starter even in the winter @ + or - freezing point, cod fishing so hope you get it right Graham uk

Finally traced the slow starting.
When I bought the RIB I (as a Marine Electrician) renewed the battery, battery cables etc, but joined them in a watertight box to the original Yam cables to the motor.
Checked voltages when starting and found about 4V at the motor 10V at the batt.
Turned out Yam cables were cream crackered, you could have cooked an egg on them!!!, copper inside was close to dust.
