I have a 1994 Yamaha outboard T9.9ELHS. It is a 2 cylinder and I am throwing parts at it to try and solve a stalling problem. Mechanics that I have talked to have all mentioned that I should change the spark plug wires. So, I tracked down the part on boats.net and got a quote of $47.70 per spark plug wire. This is incredibly high priced since I could buy a whole set of spark plug wires for a V8 for less than $50.00. I ordered 2 plug cap assemblies at a coat of $109.00. What, are they made out of ****!

The Yamaha plug wires and caps are very high quality and rarely fail, so you may have wasted your money on those, but at least you have a spare set. Your stalling problem is more likely a fuel related problem, tank, pick-up, fittings, fuel pump, filters, carb. Have your carbs ever been cleaned? Good Luck!
