  • F80BET Tacho

    I have a Yamaha F80BET Ser No. 6D7 L 1002720.
Also have 6y5-2818r-32 multi function tacho
    Bought seperately
Revs and hours connected at 703 control and OK
Came with lead to connect to engine, however no spare connector to plug into on engine.
Are the two mismatched or can things be adapted?
I am an electrician, but have no manual or wiring diagram for either unit.
Thanks for any advice or pointer to where I can get wiring diagram.
Second question. Where can I find out age of engine from serial no, if possible??
    Many thanks
    John

Not familiar with the F80BET model but the F80 models here in the US have a off white colored 4 prong square connector thats by the 10 pin main harness connector on engine that the guage harness connects to,it operates trim gauge and warning lights on tach.
We don't have information on models sold outside the US to see what year it is.

I can't imagine that there would be much difference in spec between outboards sold in states and those in UK, I think the engine is approx 2005.
There is a 4 pole connector at the engine, but to connect guage I would have to remove the trim sensor (2 wire black/pink) and a spare grey wire. Is there likely to be some sort of adapter lead? that would interface between. The guage and harness part nos seem to match up with some of those within the forum.
      ??
      Thanks
