  • F-225 Changing Timing Belt

    I might do this myself.
    Any hints ?
I've heard the tensioner is a little tricky.

I have a question around this too. In the manual it says to loosen the flywheel nut by holding the flywheel with a holder. I would prefer loosening it with an air driven impact gun. Is this method OK? I guess when tightening it again you have to use the holder so you can obtain the correct tightening torque.

impact for REMOVING the nut is fine.
      CAREFUL moving the tensioner.
NO more than about 11ftlbs on that 10mm hex.
more and the 385 dollar tensioner will be scrap.
takes me about 1.5 hrs to change both the tensioner and belt.
there are some tech bullitens out about how to move the tensioner.
you may be wise to get a copy.
