I have a Yamaha 225 and just this weekend (halfway through a tournament) I could tell that my motor would not trim up far enough. I would have plenty of trim to get on a good fast plain but I would not be able to raise it as high as I would like. I could keep holding up the trim switch with no reaction. When I stop the boat I am able to raise the motor as far as I wish. Is this maybe a fluid problem. I was thinking about the heat (100), but yet it did the same thing the next morning while cooler. I realize there is a point where the motor can not be raised past while on plain, but I am usually able to get close to 6000 RPM before it chimes. I could not get it past 5700 today due to the trim. I can usually hold the trim switch up until I have it where I want and then I let off. I needed more today and it was not there...Any help would be awesome. Thx.
