I have an 87 Yamaha 150 hp Vmax outboard. The speedometer is not working on the boat but I can blow air thru the cable and activate the gage so there must be something blocking the cable from the lower end entrance. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do next or how to take the lower end off to get to the cable? Thanks.

Try cleaning the speedo pickup hole in gearcase with a 1/16 drill bit, spin bit in by hand and blow air back through hose to clean hole out.
