Would someone please clarify for me what carb synchronizing really means? Is it simply ensuring all throttle plates open equally and simultaneously when the throttle is opened, usually done with a linkage adjustment? I have 3 carbs on my 1994 30 HP Yamaha

Also when adjusting the pilot screws, which way is lean? Is it leaning when you screw the screw in or out?

When attempting to adjust to fine tune, should you make equal adjustments to all 3? The factory settings in the manual are top carb 1/2 -1 turn, middle carb 1 1/2 - 2 and the bottom is 3/4 to 1 1/4.

I feel I'm running a little rich and want to lean it out some.

    Thanks in advance

a link and sync i believe is what you're talking about...

basically you want all 3 carbs opening/closing at the same time and to be in syncronization with the engines timing....
