  • Yamaha 50 TLRB Dies

I have a 2003 50TLRB which bogs and dies when it hits 1800 rpms. The engine runs great past that rpm if I disengage the prop.

i had the same problem in June and took it to the shop. They cleaned the carbs and checked everything else. I took it on the lake and it ran like new.

Yesterday was the first time I've had to get back on the water and the problem resurfaced.

I always keep a full tank of gas with Stabil in it... Is the problem the carbs "again"?

Should I be using something besides Stabil... Or is there a fuel stabilzer that also will keep the carbs clean - if that is the problem.

If it hasn't been run for 3 or 4 months then could be carbs need to cleaned again. If you take it back to dealer have them show you how to drain carbs for storage.

I was wondering if anyone was going to chime in with an answer. thanks much. I appreciate it. With the exception of winter, I never plan NOT to run it for that long during the spring, summer and fall. It is funny how a couple of missed weekends of fishing can turn into months.
