  • 5hp 2 stroke flushing

I've just bought a small yacht with a 5hp outboard fitted. I have the original instruction booklet, pictures only no words, which shows 3 flushing methods.
    1. In a container of fresh water
    2. Via a screw in connector just about the water inlets
    3. Via a small set of water muffs.

Method 1 is awkward for me due to location. I have the connector for Method 2 but as yet haven't been able to remove the screw-in cover, the previous owner was not one for flushing! Method 3 I cannot find a small enough set of muffs, even tried the local Yamaha dealer

I have 2 questions, grateful for any advice:
With method 2 does the fresh water reach the impellor and hence can I run the engine?
What is the part number for the small flushing muffs?

    Many thanks. Bill

Yes the screw in flusher will supply water to impeller but probably not enough to run engine without damage to impeller.
