Just bought my grandfather's boat that I started using last year. The local marine was taking care of maintenance and I'm having a similar problem to last year. The first day I took it out this year we had a great time cruising around for probably 40 minutes (20 at a time), and experienced no rpm drop. The next day, within a few minutes it cut back from 4000 rpms to 2500rpms and wouldn't go any higher. I had the same problem last year and it was supposedly something they forgot to do when de-winterizing it. Something about plugs maybe?
The only thing he told me to do was put in clean gas, which I did.
Any help would be appreciated. It is difficult to get in touch with this guy on the weekend at the marine.
