I just bought a 1984 175 hp v6. The numbers on the left side say 220aeto is this the model #. I was just at Yamaha's parts section and this was not a option for model #. Ive been having an idle/low speed run problem and during hole shot I'm limited to 2000 rpms. If it planes off it runs like a champ. Have been looking for answers. I just checked out my temp sensors on head. I know the sensor, if it closes, will give me an alarm. Oil resivior is full and I have a green light on the operator panel. I was told I had to use a premium gas because 220s have a knock sensor not sure where it is or if it's equiped with one

Are the fuel pumps original? Personally I would check the diaphragms on the fuel pumps you could have a pinhole or tear. If you did you would see problems at lower RPM’s..
