1999 250 ox66 VST Tank

i have VST tank off of engine. I took tank apart and was looking at the float. a flat aluminum gasket looking awkward shape peice about 4 to 6 inches long fell out. its very thin and flat and i think it fits in above the float in the tank housing.. And of course fell straight through crack of pier.
Do you know what this part is? and if so do you have it or know where I can order it? I have looked at every diagram i can find with no luck.
