Hi,
I just had my 250 TXRR 1993 fixed, however it is surging at WOT, reaches about 4700 rpm, then varies 4300-4800 or so, and surges. I was told to trim the motor in the up position a bit, and that definitely stopped the surging. I was able to get 5500rpm smooth and beee-oootiful!
The mechanic told me to get a new "trim sender", that's probably the problem, as it effects the computer, and is the likely cause of the surging. So, what exactly do I need to buy? Is that the actual sender attached to the outside of the bracket (he did tell me the boat needed to be out of the water to fix this)? I looked online and it looks like the part I need is 61A-83672-01-00 trim sender. I'm just trying to make sure that is the correct part to fix this problem.
And, why exactly would this cause the engine to surge like that?
Thanks for any insight you can provide.
