gear case to fit 1993 115 Yamaha 2 cycle

I have a 1993 115 hp TJRR Yamaha 2 cycle jet. I want to put a prop on it and have a lead on a 1997 115 TJRV lower unit. Will the 1997 lower gear case fit onto my 1993 outboard?

The part numbers are very very close but before I lay out the $ I thought it would be smart to consult those who know.

How hard will it be if I need to have a longer shaft? My transom was built for the jet and is quite high - 25 inches I think.

You would have to use a 20" shaft gearcase to fit on your motor and it would 5" too short for your transom. Yamaha doesn't offer any extension kits.
