My 1998 F9.9 is a bear to start and it runs poorly at idle speed. It runs fine when warm and at medium to high RPMs. I have replaced the plugs and carb was cleaned. I suspect the prime start system is not optimized for cold water, high elevation (>7,000 ft) where I like to fish. Any work-around solution or do I need to buy a motor with a manual choke?
