resistor command link

I finally found my problem, if I remove the resistor from one of the bus boards my guages work fine but as soon as I put it back they go back out.
So do I need this resistor or is it safe to run without it?

It needs a resistor at hub on tramsom and last hub in circuit at console. Should be a total of 2 resistor in system whiether it's single, twin or tripple engine system.
