I purchased a secondhand yamaha 40hp autolube a couple of Days ago, and gave it a run yesterday (all went really well). The trim tab needs replacing hopefully thats all, What i am trying to find out is the year, so i can purchase owner/service manual etc any help would be great as I am pretty new to outboards serial plate reads: 40 HMO 6H4 L 485305 (Japan) I believe L is 20" shaft length, manual tilt and pullstart poss some of the other letters.
also weather its possible to charge the battery from this model.
