when the anode went bad on my yamaha,the corrosion followed the wire connecting it to my trim/tilt pump motor and ate it......literally i was able to pull the motor housing off without removing a screw ..the pump motor for mine was 250.00..an aftermarket..yamaha wants 500.00 ...the new anode was 18.50 .....check those anodes... save that motor......good luck
