92 200hp on a mooring in cold salt water with no marinas nearby has its fin zinc deteriorating fast. Would this be a bad ground? How do you trace problem? Thanks

That's what it's supposed to do, just keep an eye on it and replace as needed. Better the zinc than your motor, that's why they call them sacrificial anodes.

do you leave the leg in the water ? put a couple extras on the hull of your boat on the back so they are in the water when boat is at rest.

but as said that's what is supposed to happen just replace it

Normally I would agree, but everyone else moored around same area not experiencing same rate of deterioration (some have same fin zinc).
No shore power,no tabs, no clue...

You may have some stray leakage currents on your boat. Probably need to do some research on it. I think have read some way of testing but can not remember where or what it said.

Maybe look for wiring laying in water in bilge, automatic bilge pump would be a thought. Any noble metal contacting the water could cause it also, dissimilar metals form a battery type effect and cause current flow.the anode is designed to go first and keep the motor from corroding.
