Zinc Anodes

Unfamiliar with these. Have 1993 6hp 2-stroke. Has been sitting 10 yrs. Outside of anode appears to be normal (slight oxidation, feels like 400 grit sandpaper) but not pitted or scaly/crusty. Should I change it anway? Supposedly never run in Saltwater and I will use Freshwater only. Thanks, oth

Just clean with soft wire brush.
