Alarming 1998 130 hp

My 1998 130 hp Saltwater Series Yamaha has started sounding an audible alarm without any noticeable malfunction. If I stop and return to idle or shut down the engine, restart in about 5 minutes, the alarm has reset. I initially thought low oil was the culprit as I topped off the reservoir but the problem continues. It seems if I hit an oncoming wake from a passing boat and hit the water again pretty hard, the alarm comes on. Can anyone help?

Check the oil level in engine oil tank when alarm comes on, if oil level is at or below lower line on tank then it's not transferring oil from boat oil tank.
